Twyford is seeking a proactive and results-driven Surveyor (Fulfilment Buyer) with at least 2 years of relevant experience to support the Procurement Team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong focus on Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) sourcing, eager to contribute to a reputable manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of MRO (spare parts) materials critical to operational continuity. This includes strengthening supplier relationships, improving delivery performance, and maintaining high standards of quality and reliability. The role also plays a key part in enhancing the company’s corporate image through professional supplier engagement and consistent procurement excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive raw material surveys to identify high-quality sources of non-metal materials, including ceramics, cement, and glass-related inputs, ensuring alignment with production standards and cost targets.
- Evaluate geological data and field reports to support strategic sourcing decisions, leveraging a strong geological background to assess deposit quality, sustainability, and extraction feasibility.
- Oversee and coordinate raw material mining and supply operations, ensuring consistent availability of materials while maintaining compliance with company specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mining companies, survey organizations, and government geological departments to secure reliable supply channels and access to critical resource information.
- Lead supplier identification, qualification, and negotiation processes, ensuring favorable commercial terms, cost efficiency, and long-term partnerships.
- Monitor market trends and technological developments in non-metal materials (ceramics, cement, glass technologies) to optimize sourcing strategies and improve product quality.
- Ensure all sourcing and manufacturing activities adhere to environmental, health, and safety standards, as well as local and international regulations.
- Provide technical input and support to internal teams regarding material specifications, testing, and performance optimization.
- Prepare and present detailed survey reports, cost analyses, and procurement forecasts to management for decision-making and strategic planning.
