ME Long Teng is a leading manufacturer of high-quality grinding media for the worldwide mining industry. It is a joint venture between ME Elecmetal (a world-renowned supplier of milling solutions from Santiago Chile) and Long Teng Special Steel Co., Ltd (a premium steel products manufacturer based in Jiangsu China). The Company established its subsidiary in Zambia and constructed a world-class forged steel grinding media production plant in Kalumbila.

Reporting.

– This position reports directly to the IT Department Supervisor of ME Longteng Grinding Media (z) Ltd.

Summary

The IT Support Officer is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software to employees. They respond to inquiries, diagnose and resolve technical issues, and ensure the company’s IT systems are operating smoothly.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure that all company and HSE policies are always observed to safeguard yourself, your colleagues, and the company property. This includes ensuring that all tasks are carried out in a safe manner and appropriate PPE worn.

User Support:

  • Provide first-line technical support to employees via phone, email, or in person.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems promptly and effectively.
  • Install, configure, backup, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, CCTV Cameras, and other IT equipment.

Technical Assistance:

  • Assist in the maintenance and administration of IT systems, including servers, networks, and security systems.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to develop efficient solutions.
  • Perform regular system updates and upgrades.

Documentation and Training:

  • Document IT-related processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Provide training to employees on the effective use of IT resources and software applications.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor network security to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.

Software and Hardware Management:

  • Manage software licenses and hardware inventory.

IT Infrastructure:

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of IT infrastructure projects.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance the company’s IT capabilities.

Reporting:

  • Generate reports on IT support activities, issues, and resolutions.
  • Analyze trends and provide insights for continuous improvement.
