CHINESE TRANSLATOR/ASSISTANT

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret spoken conversations during meetings, negotiations, training sessions, and site visits.
• Facilitate effective communication between Chinese-speaking and local employees.
• Translate technical documents, contracts, manuals, reports, and correspondence.
• Ensure translations maintain the original meaning, tone, and context.
• Proofread and edit translated documents for accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
• Assist Chinese expatriate staff with communication in daily operations.
• Translate company policies, safety procedures, and training materials.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information and documents.
• Coordinate communication between departments to avoid language barriers.
• Provide cultural guidance to help improve understanding between Chinese and local staff.
• Support Human Resources, Procurement, Administration, and other departments with translation needs.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language, Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English (knowledge of local languages is an added advantage).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Previous experience as a Chinese translator/interpreter is an added advantage.
