EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Nkana Mining and Mineral Processing Limited operates in Chambishi, Zambia. The company explores innovative processing and flotation techniques to improve copper recovery rates and extract concentrates from local slag.
The company seeks to employ a suitably qualified, experienced, and results-oriented individual to fill the position on a renewable fixed-term contract.
1.0 HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER X01
The successful candidate will be responsible for operational support to the Human Resources Department in delivering services to the company. You will be responsible for recruitment, employee record management, payroll input support, labour compliance and administrative HR function for efficient delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing and posting job advertisements on various media, receiving, screening and compiling applications.
- Schedule interviews with department heads and communicate with candidates.
- Maintain and create employee files and ensure records are accurate and well-documented.
- Update HR database and be able to use HRIS.
- Be able to prepare contract letters, confirmation letters, promotions and other HR correspondence.
- Ensure payroll data is compiled for attendance records, leave management and other allowances.
- Statutory submissions, including NAPSA, NHIMA and PAYE, are timely monitored.
- Able to prepare weekly and monthly HR reports for HR planning.
- Participate in policy implementation and be able to interpret them to employees.
Qualification and Experience Required:
- Full Grade 12 Certificate
- Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field.
- Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) and fully paid.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in the mining industry or a manufacturing company.
Skills Required:
- Excellent management skills.
- Strong leadership skills for motivating, goal setting and decision making.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strategic thinking for identifying trends and longer-term planning.
- Knowledge of relevant HR software is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
