Job Description
The Head of Sponsor & Investment Banking will lead the origination, structuring, and execution of capital markets and advisory transactions for corporate, financial sponsor, and government clients across sectors including energy, mining, infrastructure, and oil & gas. The role combines senior client coverage and investment banking product responsibilities, with accountability for driving business development, providing strategic financial advice, developing innovative financing solutions, and overseeing complex transaction execution. The role includes building and maintaining executive-level client relationships, collaborate with local and cross-border teams, ensure rigorous financial analysis and risk management, and lead a high-performing team that contributes to the growth and success of the Corporate & Investment Banking franchise.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the origination and execution of vanilla and complex capital market transactions including capital raising, and other advisory mandates for CIB clients.
- Act as a senior relationship lead for Sponsor segment clients, maintaining and developing long-term partnerships with corporates, financial sponsors, and other market participants.
- Develop and present strategic advice and materials to clients, delivering insightful and differentiated perspectives on market dynamics, valuation, and potential opportunities to c-level executives.
- Contribute to idea generation and pipeline development aligned to key Investment Banking themes.
- Drive marketing initiatives, pitches and thought leadership tailored to priority subsector dynamics, commodity trends, and regulatory developments.
- Develop innovative financial solutions tailored to meet specific client needs.
- Oversee all aspects of transaction delivery, ensuring high-quality execution, effective risk management, and seamless coordination across internal and external stakeholders (i.e. credit, legal, finance, technical and commercial diligence providers) across jurisdictions.
- Review financial analysis, valuation, and modelling to ensure analytical rigour and accuracy.
- Mentor and develop team members, set quality standards, provide coaching and feedback, support recruiting activities.
- Drive business development efforts, identifying new opportunities and contributing to the growth of the broader franchise.
