About the role
The debt recoveries officer is responsible for coordinating the debit recovery process by identifying and contacting default clients to minimize arrears which client relationship officers have failed to collect.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor loan portfolios to identify accounts that are 30 days and above in arrears
- Roll back delinquent accounts from 30 days past due to current (PAR 1)
- Identify root causes of loan defaults and recommend corrective actions to the Supervisor
- Develop and manage realistic repayment plans with defaulting clients
- Conduct regular field visits to clients’ business and residential locations
- Escalate difficult or uncooperative cases to Legal at the appropriate stage
- Ensure strict adherence to FINCA policies and procedures
- Prepare and submit weekly recovery performance reports
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or any other related business field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in debt collection and credit risk management within a Bank or Microfinance Institution
- At least 2 years’ experience in a financial institution with exposure to lending, credit administration, or debt recover
