About the role

The Gardener will be responsible for planting, cultivating, and caring for various plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees. This position requires a passion for horticulture, physical stamina, and attention to detail to ensure that the grounds are aesthetically pleasing and well-maintained.

Detailed Job Specifications

  • Maintain the overall appearance of the grounds, including weeding, mowing, pruning and trimming plants and trees.
  • Ensure that lawns, garden beds, and other landscapes are neat and well-kept.
  • Ensure pathways, gardens, and other outdoor areas are free of debris, trash and hazards.
  • Maintain garden tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Collect and dispose of garden waste, such as leaves, branches, and other organic materials, in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and regulations while using gardening tools and equipment.
  • Report any safety hazards or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by management.

Person Specification:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Minimum two years related experience

Required knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Ability to operate gardening equipment such as lawnmowers and trimmers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for working outdoors.
  • Self-motivated and honest person.
