Accountants intern

Job Purpose To support the Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with daily accounting operations, and ensuring timely processing of financial transactions within the hotel environment. The intern will gain practical exposure to hospitality finance, revenue management, cost control, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Assist in recording daily financial transactions and journal entries. Support revenue reconciliations for accommodation, restaurant, bar, conference, and other hotel departments. Assist in reconciling Point of Sale (POS) reports with cash and card collections. Support bank reconciliations and petty cash management. Process supplier invoices, payment vouchers, and staff reimbursements. Assist with accounts receivable, including guest accounts and corporate debtors. Support inventory and stock reconciliations for food, beverages, and operating supplies. Maintain proper filing of accounting records and supporting documents. Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports. Support audit preparation and compliance documentation. Perform any other duties assigned by the Finance Manager. Qualifications & Experience Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (completed or in progress). Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of accounting software is an added advantage. Prior internship or attachment experience is an added advantage.
