FINANCE CONTROLLER – TLP PROJECT

Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) Plc a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources, is one of the largest copper producers in Zambia. It operates mining and processing plants located in four district namely Chingola, Chililabombwe, Kitwe and Nampundwe.

The new Tailings Leach Plant (TLP) is a significant project and it provides exceptional development and growth opportunities. To support and enable this growth, we are looking for a high-energy, results-driven, individual to take on the role of:

MAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organising the project budget according to the work packages and orders.
  • Establishing the cash flow requirement forecast for the project with the help of the project timeline and commercial terms and conditions of the various contracts and POs.
  • Process the invoices after relevant approvals and arrange the release of timely payment according to the contractual arrangements.
  • Liaise with the CFO of Growth Projects and the KCM’s financial team to ensure availability of cash flow according to the project timelines and forecasting.
  • Assess tax and ensure related compliances.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting. A Chartered Accountant (CA) will be preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance and accounting in a project / capital investment environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of taxes and duties applicable to capital goods and services.
  • Work experience in large-scale multidisciplinary projects will be an added advantage.
