About the role
Our Client, a multinational engineering and construction organisation, is seeking a highly skilled Surveying Engineer to provide technical oversight and ensure absolute precision in measurement management across infrastructure projects in the Road and Bridge Project Department.
The successful candidate will serve as the primary quality control authority for all surveying activities, ensuring that construction layout, control point verification, and topographical accuracy meet both international engineering standards and local regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Survey & Measurement
- Participate in drafting the engineering survey plan and calibration cycle schedule for measuring instruments.
- Monitor survey management implementation by project stakeholders and report progress to the lead engineer.
- Inspect surveyor qualifications and calibration status of surveying instruments in construction/design departments according to regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper storage and maintenance of surveying instruments within the project management department and report findings to the supervising engineer.
- Conduct re‑measurement of project control points and supervise maintenance of permanent control points by the construction department.
- Verify accuracy of surveying and layout work performed by the construction department and review compliance of surveying documentation.
- Perform measurement verification throughout the entire construction process to ensure error‑free elevation and axis control, achieving 100% qualification rate.
- For non‑compliant items, require immediate on‑site rectification, document original data and rework procedures, and report to the supervising engineer.
- Before project commencement, verify control points (traverse, leveling) in design documentation; organize addition, relocation, and correction of points; document results and submit reports to the lead engineer.
- Review self‑inspection reports of sub‑item engineering survey and layout by the construction department.
- Verify central/boundary stake positions and elevation measurement results according to contract specifications.
- Check and verify surveying and layout work for changed or additional works, including surveying required for quantity changes.
- Check accuracy of foundation layout, organize settlement and displacement observation, and verify correctness of settlement observation reports submitted by the contractor.
- Attend on‑site change meetings for subgrade replacement and elevation adjustments; conduct elevation re‑measurement and preserve original survey data.
- Inspect restoration alignment of handover projects, verify survey data, organize re‑survey when needed, and report results to the supervising engineer.
Documentation, Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain measurement management logs, upload daily updates to the designated chat group, and respond to supervising engineer comments.
- Review and summarize training content after attending position‑related and thematic training sessions.
- Organize monthly paper and electronic archives, collect work photos/videos, upload to the Cloud, and back up to hard drive.
- Learn, comply with, and implement all company regulations and procedures (attendance, vehicle management, safety protocols, dormitory/office administration, 6S management).
Meetings, Coordination & Work Review
- Attend weekly and monthly departmental meetings to summarize performance and reinforce objectives.
- Contribute to meeting minutes and departmental documentation.
- Assist the department manager in organizing training programs for both the department and the company.
- Actively enhance job‑related knowledge and skills through training and share insights with the team.
- Assist the lead engineer in organizing and participating in team‑building activities.
