Position Overview

The Document Controller manages all project documentation processes on site, ensuring accurate registration, distribution, tracking, and archiving of all technical and non-technical project documents in accordance with the Project Document Management Plan and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain the project EDMS (Electronic Document Management System) for the onsite team.
  • Register, track, and distribute all incoming and outgoing project correspondence, technical submittals, drawings, and reports.
  • Issue transmittals for all document submissions to the Client, EPC contractors, and CSI teams.
  • Maintain the master document register ensuring proper coding, versioning, and filing of all documents.
  • Coordinate with the offsite team in Egypt to maintain alignment of document control procedures.
  • Monitor and track EPC contractor submittal status and ensure review comments are issued within agreed timeframes.
  • Maintain the drawing register and ensure latest approved revisions are accessible to all site personnel.
  • Prepare weekly document control status reports highlighting outstanding submittals and overdue responses.
  • Ensure hard copy and electronic records are properly archived and backed up.
  • Support the project handover process by organizing the final documentation and as-built record packages.
  • Train site staff on document control procedures and EDMS usage as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Information Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of document control experience on engineering or construction projects.
  • Proficiency in EDMS platforms (Aconex, Procore, SharePoint, or equivalent).
  • Experience with EPC contract document workflows is preferred.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills.
  • Good English communication; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
