About the role
Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Site Engineer/Agent to manage the technical and commercial aspects of the project. You will be responsible for setting out works, ensuring technical compliance, managing materials, and assisting in the smooth execution of civil works ranging from heavy-duty access roads to deep foundations and plant bases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting Out & Surveying: Perform accurate setting out for roads, drainage lines, building platforms, and structural foundations using total stations and levels. Ensure strict adherence to design levels and gradients.
- Technical Compliance: Interpret structural and civil drawings (including reinforcement details and formwork plans). Ensure all works meet the specified standards (e.g., concrete grades, reinforcement spacing, cover depths).
- Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Conduct inspections and testing. Supervise compaction tests (proctor/sand replacement) for road sub-grades and ensure concrete mixes are designed and poured correctly.
- Material Control: Manage requisition for materials (aggregates, cement, reinforcement steel, pipes, etc.) and verify quantities against the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) to minimize wastage.
- Documentation: Maintain daily diaries, progress reports, and as-built drawings. Coordinate with the Project Manager regarding progress and potential variations.
- Subcontractor Liaison: Supervise subcontractors involved in specialized works (e.g., borehole drilling, specific structural works) to ensure their integration into the main program.
